We’re so glad to have you here at “In the Bag Kids’ Crafts”. It’s our mission to help you make crafting with your kiddo a habit…by providing fun and easy craft ideas that you can make from the supplies in your bag.
And, speaking of your craft bag…be sure to pop by the “fill your bag” page so that you know exactly what to keep in your craft bag to make all of the amazing creations that you see on this site. We stick to the same master list of craft supplies to reduce the prep and mess of crafting with your family.
Kids craft ideas are no good if they only exist on the internet but are never actually made by kids. We want to make crafting with your kids something that you do regularly and enjoy together. So, we’re removing some of the roadblocks, like too much prep time, lots of mess and hefty price tags.
You will not need much to complete this craft, and everything that you need is already in your craft bag if you have used our master list to fill your bag in the past. If not, no worries. It’s a list of just 27 basic craft supplies that fit into one bag, each one is inexpensive and versatile. You probably have a lot of these items already.
And…we never stray from the list for any creative project that we make here so that you will not have to keep running to the store or putting off crafting with your kids because you just don’t have what you need to make that special craft. So, what are you waiting for?
Ready to grab the best tools and products we love? We’ve put together a quick list of our top picks available on Amazon and Walmart—making it easy for you to find exactly what you need. Anytime you’re ready to shop, you can also revisit this full list anytime on any of our Projects Pages and Fill Your Bag Page, so you’ll always have it handy for future reference.
Trust me…you’ll never regret that time you spend making things with your kids. We truly only get a limited time with them before we blink, and they’re off adulting on their own. I speak from experience on this one. That saying “The days are long but the years are short” is so true! So, make the most of each moment. Get away from screens and the natural chaos of life and craft some memories together.
Crafting has so many benefits for kids (and families). Of course, it’s the perfect way to practice skills like fine motor coordination, language development, attention span, problem solving and so much more. It’s also a great way to help children open up to emotions and feelings that they might not otherwise tap into and share. I always find it amazing how much a child shares when their hands are busy.
I promise to give you all of the inspiration you need. Here are a few tips for making the time to craft with your kids more:
- Fill your craft bag using our master list so that you’re ready when you find a little time.
- Start by setting aside just 15 minutes this week to make something simple together.
- Create a consistant time in your family schedule, as often as you can, for crafting together.
You’ll never regret the time you spend making things with your kids. Start crafting memories today.
