Trust me…you’ll never regret that time you spend making things with your kids. We truly only get a limited time with them before we blink, and they’re off adulting on their own. I speak from experience on this one. That saying “The days are long but the years are short” is so true! So, make the most of each moment. Get away from screens and the natural chaos of life and craft some memories together.
Crafting has so many benefits for kids (and families). Of course, it’s the perfect way to practice skills like fine motor coordination, language development, attention span, problem solving and so much more. It’s also a great way to help children open up to emotions and feelings that they might not otherwise tap into and share. I always find it amazing how much a child shares when their hands are busy.
I promise to give you all of the inspiration you need. Here are a few tips for making the time to craft with your kids more:
- Fill your craft bag using our master list so that you’re ready when you find a little time.
- Start by setting aside just 15 minutes this week to make something simple together.
- Create a consistant time in your family schedule, as often as you can, for crafting together.
