Step-by-step Simple Craft Instructions:

1

Create the Foundation

  • Download and print the free bear craft. We printed it directly onto brown construction paper.
  • No need to get out the brown paint. Instead, grab some washi tape in your favorite colors and tear pieces to cover the circle, which will become the bears head. It does not need to be solidly covered. Gaps are welcome.

2

Cut Out the Bear’s Head

  • Now that you’ve covered the circle with washi tape, simply cut it out. Set it aside to be used in a later step.

3

Cut out the Rest of the Bear’s Body

  • Now it’s time to cut out the rest of the pieces for your adorable bears.
  • Cut out all of the body parts, including the bear’s snout and ears
  • For the nose, grab a scrap of black construction paper.
  • You will also want to use a scrap of pink paper when cutting out the center of the ears.
  • Set these pieces aside to use in the next step.

4

Put Your Cute Bear Together

  • Now grab the glue stick to begin assembly of your easy craft.
  • Start by gluing in the center of the ears.
  • Then add the ears to the bear’s head.
  • Add the nose onto the bear’s snout and put that piece in place also.

5

Finish Off Your Little Bear

  • The last touch is to give your bear a sweet little face.
  • All you need to do is add some googly eyes or grab a marker or crayon to draw on the smile. It’s a great way to give him a bit of personality.

Can I Use Other Types of Paper?

We chose brown construction paper for our bear craft for preschoolers because we always keep some in our craft bag. However, you can also use cardstock in whatever color you have on hand. You can even print onto white card stock and then use crayons or markers to color your project before adding the washi tape and beginning assembly. I would not use standard printer paper because it’s not sturdy enough.

What If I Don’t Have Washi Tape?

If you don’t have washi tape, first off, get some. It’s probably my number one favorite crafting supply because it’s cheap, versatile and comes in so many colors and patterns. It’s such so much fun!

But if you haven’t added any to your craft bag yet, you can also simply color the circle or use brown or tan tissue paper squares, crinkled a bit, to give your bear his own unique look. You can also choose to tear up small pieces of paper and treat this as a mosaic.
