Fall Family Fun Night Challenge: Week 5

Halloween Paper Airplanes

I am so excited for this week’s Fall Family Fun Night Challenge because I know that it will be a time of creating memories with your family. Nothing brings out family togetherness more than a little competition. So, start by everyone MAKING their own Halloween themes paper airplane (You can make one from here or design your own), then see whose will go the farther, and finally enjoy a yummy snack together, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies! If you have missed the last several weeks and want to catch up, check out the posts here: WEEK 1, WEEK 2, WEEK 3, WEEK4. Now, let’s get going on this super fun Halloween Kids’ Activity!

Also, this week your experience here will be a little bit different because each Halloween paper airplane has video instructions instead of pictures with explanations. I would love to hear how you like it, as you will likely be seeing more and more video here at “In the Bag Kids’ Crafts”. That is not to say that I won’t still provide flashcards for some crafts and/or step by step instructions with pics. These crafts just seemed to need a video format for a full understanding.

And if you don’t want to miss the final week of our challenge (and lots of fun stuff after that, including access to the free resource library with lots of step-by-step project flashcards), sign up today to stay informed!

SUPPLIES FROM THE BAG

  • Sheet of orange piece of construction paper
  • Scraps of black construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick

Every project that is in this post (and on this entire website!) can be completed from the supplies that you already have in your bag if you have used the free printable shopping list (or Amazon links). I am hoping that by doing that, you can prepare once, and then be able to craft and craft and craft with your kids whenever the opportunity arises. By that, I mean whenever you can finally find a free moment in your day to just get your head above water. I know that parent is hard, and you want to have lots of quality time with your kiddos. Hopefully this helps, at least a little.

PLAY: Compete with your paper airplanes

This game is quite simple. All you need are your airplanes and a tape line on the floor. Each person will stand behind the line and throw their airplane. Whoever’s goes the farthest wins! You can play best 3 out of 5 (or whatever) and leave time to make some adjustments in between turns. You can also decide to have a second starting line for kids that are itty bitty. If you make up additional rules (like a challenge to see who gets closest to a target), just be sure to state the rules clearly at the beginning so that there is no family bickering (because that is totally what our super competitive family would do).

SNACK: Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

Our SNACK this week comes from Jackie at Happy Hooligans. As soon as I saw this recipe, I knew that it was perfect for a family night. You can choose to make it ahead or make them together as part of your time together. They are simple to make and don’t take any exotic ingredients. You can find the recipe HERE.
