How to make a Penguin Card
This free printable penguin card is perfect for kids of all ages. For little ones, precut the pieces and let them do the assembly. If they are too young write a message inside, have them draw a picture instead.
SUPPLIES FROM THE BAG
- Construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Markers or crayons
- Penguin card template
To make crafting with your kids actually do-able and fun (like it should be), we always stick to a list of basic supplies that fit into one bag for all of the crafts that you see on this site. We never stray from the master list so that once you fill your bag, you’re ready to craft along over and over again, even when time and money is tight. Now let’s craft some memories!

Step-by-step Instructions:
Step 1: Use the Free Printable Template
- Print out the penguin craft template onto white cardstock.
- Use the circle with the dotted line to cut out 2 white circles.
- Follow the dotted line to fold over the top of one of those circles.
Step 2: Cut Out the Card
- Use the other circle to cut the top of the penguin head from black construction paper.
- Also use the free craft template to cut the beak from a scrap of orange construction paper.
- Cut out the paper eyes.
Step 3: Assemble the Card
- Use your glue stick to put some glue onto the folded tab.
- Then sandwich the other white circle right on top and press firmly to form the foundation of your penguin card.
Step 4: Create the Penguin Face
- Glue the black part of the penguin face.
- Then glue the eyes and beak in place.
- This is your chance to add any other details you would like, such as rosy cheeks, bows, etc.
You can also choose to use googly eyes instead of paper eyes if you choose.
Step 5: Write Your Message
- Open up the penguin card and write your special message inside.
Alternative Instructions
Instead of cutting all of the pieces from construction paper, you can also choose to just use the template as a printable. Color the parts of the card, cut them out and then assemble. For this method, it’s best to print onto white cardstock.
