What better way to celebrate a birthday than with a unique birthday cake craft? It’s so much fun to see how each child designs their own dream cake. Maybe once they make it in paper form, we can bring it to life in flour and sugar form. Wouldn’t that be fun?

If you enjoy this sweet birthday cake craft, you’re also going to love making this cookie craft, these cupcake crafts and this ice cream sundae craft.

I’ve witnessed kids struggle to complete multi-step activities. So, I came up with this brilliant craft page(if I do say myself) way to break down crafts into bite-sized pieces with easy tutorials.

These are especially perfect for those kiddos who have limited attention spans.

Crafts are such a great developmental tool for kids (improves motor planning, attention span, executive functioning, fine motor skills, language development and more), and using our in the bag system makes planning crafts for your kids to enjoy even easier.

Just print out a few of your favorites crafts, get your craft supply bag (which you can fill using our master list of supplies that we stick to for every single one of the projects in the flashcard collection). It’s so simple.

And the best part is that there’s not a screen in sight. Technology is such a great thing, but it’s also nice to take a break from it once in awhile and let the brain explore in other ways.

How to Add More Decorations to Your Cake

We kept things simple and only colored on the cake decorations, but you can amp up the fun with the things in your craft bag. Use cotton to add some whipped cream or frosting to your cake. Cut decorations from construction paper, even making 3D flowers. Use beads, mini pompoms or snips of pipe cleaners for sprinkles. Grab paint or even Elmer’s glue tinted with paint for piping on some fancy decorations.

How to make this a wedding cake craft

The steps for a wedding cake craft remain basically the same. The only different will be the topper. To create the bride and groom toppers you can use a personal family picture or draw the figures and cut them out. Then add the topper to your wedding cake. Or skip the bride and groom figures all together and make paper flowers instead.
